BBAG AND THE GERMAN CONNECTION

Richard has considerable success with horses bought from and sold to Germany.

His purchases from Germany include Grade 1 winning hurdler UNITED (in association with BBA Germany) and Grade 2 winner EL DANCER, together with other good class performers including BACKBORD, ELEAZAR, ALL ANNALENA and SUPER DIRECTA.

Horses he has sold to Germany include 2009 Group 2 winner KING OF SYDNEY (pictured left) and Group 3 winner MOOD MUSIC both in collaboration with BBA Germany.  Other successful purchases include THREE FRENCH HENS (Multiple winner as a 3-y-o and Listed winner in Germany in 2010), MAKING STRIDES (winner in Düsseldorf in 2011) and MIAMI TALLYCE (Three times winner in Baden Baden in 2008).

Richard is closely involved in the Breeding Industry and has excellent contacts with several very professionally run studs in the UK, Ireland and France.  He is able to assist and give advice with the booking of mares into any European based stallion as well as obtaining the best stallion fees available. He can also help with boarding arrangements for travelling mares.

Richard is assisted in Germany by Heidrun Küster.  Heidrun (pictured right) is based near Cologne and has a real passion for the thoroughbred.  She has followed the sport closely for the last twenty years and regularly attends race meetings in Germany as well as many major European fixtures. Heidrun has an extensive knowledge of the people and horses in the German racing industry and has the added advantage of being fluent in English.  She is an invaluable asset to Richard Venn Bloodstock Ltd in Germany.  Heidrun has also developed a unique website www.siegerlisten.com where she posts the results of all the major races in the World.
